The Chambers and Fountain Building, Located at 202 Head Avenue, was built circa 1887. It was originally a dry goods/hardware/grocery
store. When purchased by our company in May,2000, the oldest wood frame building in Haralson County was in complete disrepair
and was very nearly at "the point of no return." We totally rehabilitated this building, bringing it up to modern
standards, always keeping its historical significance in mind. We were able to save most of the windows, many with hand rolled
glass panes intact. Much of the 100+ year old locally cut, heart pine flooring was in good enough shape to save and refinish.
These floors, having endured over a century of wear, finished out beautifully, telling their multigenerational story. Located
in picturesque Tallapoosa, Georgia, this building contains 2 large, 2 bedroom and 2 large, 1 bedroom apartments. The apartments
have high ceilings, wood floors, ceiling fans, decks and/or porches, stained glass, ceramic tile counters, and plenty of windows.
Tallapoosa is approximately 1 hour west of Atlanta, off of I-20, 30 minutes from Douglasville, and 15 minutes from Carrollton.
Being in a small town, the rents are very reasonable. With the uniqueness and quality of these apartments so high and the
rents so low, we have had folks willing to commute as far as Stone Mountain.
